Original video source (video-play.mp4)

This short video explains the term data dictionary- what is it and why it is needed?

Data dictionary is a collection of meta data (the variables name). Unlike database/dataset, data dictionary is devoid of any data and lists just the variables available in the dataset. It is a communication between clinical researchers and statistician as well as other team members. It brings everyone on the same page, in terms of one clinical meaning with regards to the multiple variables available in the dataset.
