A short follow up to the previous post: several of the topics that we discuss over emails, blog, conference calls include a large number of participants scattered all over the globe.
Would it be helpful to have a regular retreat (e.g. face-to-face meeting) where the latest projects and ideas are discussed? We had a small retreat at Duke in Spring 2007 that not only achieved these goals, but also was a great opportunity for our team to build on our working relationships.
For a future retreat, we were envisioning workshops on manuscript and grant writing, an overview of the latest data collection techniques developed by CESO team members, and scheduled time to discuss new projects. It would be great to make this into a two-day retreat so there is also ample social time.
I welcome any suggestions you may have.
